Take A Chance..

Yesterday, during our Math class, we had an activity. In that particular activity, we had to form groups composed of three members each group. The group that I belonged to composed of Leejee moody Zamora, Maria Cielo Sanchez, and me. The members of our group are not that good at Math and so it we had a hard time choosing who will play for each round. The rounds are the easy round, medium round, and difficult round. So what we did was we used our grades in math for the Third Grading Period as basis for choosing who gets the easy round, medium round and difficult round. Leejee's grade was 76, mine was also 76 and Cielo's grade was 77. We chose Leejee as the one to play the easy round. I was to play for the medium round and Cielo was for the difficult round. She didn't want to play in the difficult round because she was afraid that she might not get the answer correctly. During easy round, Leejee got a mistake. In the medium round, I got it correctly. In the difficult round, Cielo got so nervous. She was like this because if she does not get the answer right, our group will only get five points for the activity because each round is worth five points. Because she was so nervous, she was not able to answer and our group did not have any points earned for that particular round. At the end of the activity, our group got only 5 points. After the game ended, Cielo cried. She told us that the reason why she cried is because she knew the answer but did not say it because she as afraid that she might get mistaken. She really blamed herself for the loss of our group and regretted for not having said anything.
From this experience, I have learned that we should always take chances in everything we do. We should always strike while the iron is hot. It's not everyday that we get chances like these. My English teacher in grade six once told me a story. When she was still a student, she was a very shy girl. Whenever her teacher asks a question to the class, she won't raise her hands to answer. Instead, she whispers the answer to her seat mate. At the end, her seat mate gets all the credit for her answer.
As a student of UP high, I am so privileged to study in this University. Of all the people who took the entrance exam in UP, only seventy of them passed and got a chance to study here. I am one of them. My brother told me that studying in UP is a life that is worth taking chances. You can not survive in UP if you do not go and take a chance to do amazing things…

"dead" Liners

"All work and no play makes jack a very unhappy boy", well this doesn't apply to this week. It's all because the students now have a very hectic schedule. The Freshies,Sophies and Seniors need to make 17 post for their blogs, most of the Freshies,Sophies and Seniors as I see it haven't finished making all their 17 posts.;The Juniors on the other hand have a lot of projects to pass this week. They had to pass a vertical file in art. app. ,a brochure and time line about a country in soc. sci., a final copy of thier project proposals. So how's that for being busy.....

The students were given a lot of time to make their projects to earn them extra credit in their subjects to help them make their grade higher. But as I know most of the students will just make them on the deadline date or a week before passing it. Some manage to pull off a magnificent work, while some didn't. But why should we do this could we just try to do the projects earlier so that we can spend more time in making the project better. But because we mostly have the mañana habit. I am strike by my own post because I, myself, am a deadliner(mostly)but I wish i could be better and learn how to have a better attitude towards doing a work. If we can manage to make people have a better attitude towards work, we could have a better economy and produce better works. Fight mediocracy..for like the grasshopper that just enjoyed summer and didn't do work. So when the flood came it just lost its home and starved throughout the flood. But the ants worked all summer and when the flood came they were prepared and they survived.

So why do these people do their projects on deadlines?? Do they just do their projects for the sake of passing?? Maybe they do or they don't. But I'm sure that these people just do their projects with mediocracy .
